About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Mississippi State University. My focus is on health economics, applied microeconomics, and statistical measurement. My interests include how nutrition assistance programs affect human health, how where we live shapes our health outcomes throughout the life cycle, and how we can measure latent traits like food security and human development using data-driven statistical models.
I grew up in Birmingham Alabama where I received my undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I then moved to Atlanta Georgia where I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Some of my hobbies include kayak bass fishing, playing guitar, woodworking, and lifting weights. I also have a Corgi named Waffles!
